Community Energy Manager for City of Prince George
Assisting one of the first communities to pilot the concept of a Community Energy Manager, EELO Solutions acted as the community energy manager for the City of Prince George for 16 months in 2008 – 2010. The objective of the position was to reduce community greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to meet the requirement of the Partners for Climate Protection goal set by the City.
Some of the key activities of this project included:
Reviewing and validating GHG inventories
Validating and evaluating GHG emissions forecast
Developing and delivering initiatives and actions for the implementation of the Community Energy and GHG Reduction Plan
Developing an Energy Profile for the Small and Medium Business Sector in the city working with businesses, BC Hydro, and the city to provide outreach and educational opportunities
Developing a GHG reduction plan
Preparing a protocol to monitor and report the progress of implementing the emission reduction plan that was developed
